The Impedance effect of biochar on the accumulation and distribution of lead, cadmium and arsenic in sunflower seeds
In order to explore whether there are resistance effects of biochar on the accumulation and transport of heavy metals in crop seeds,a field experiment was carried out to study the effects of lychee biochar on the accumulation, distribution and transfer of Lead,Cadmium and Arsenic in the organs of Helianthus annuus L.in heavy metal mining field. Results showed that after biochar being applied, the accumulation of Pb,Cd and As were being redistributed among the organs of the sunflower plants; an unique detoxification mechanism of sunflower plants was stimulated by biochar; Pb,Cd and As absorbed by root system were transferred and distributed to leaf and receptacle preferentially, and Pb,Cd and As were resisted to be transported to seeds; Lychee biochar significantly reduced Pb,Cd and As content in sunflower seeds in the field, and it can be used as a good soil amendment to remediate compound heavy metal contaminated soil in mining area.
