Tree composition of a alpine forest in Northwest Yunnan
Cold-temperate coniferous forest where distributed in temperate,warm temperate, subtropical and tropical high altitude mountains,of which distribution altitude gradually increased from north to south is one of the important vegetation types in China.Yulongxueshan 25 hm2 Forest Dynamics Plot (FDP)was established in cold-temperate coniferous forest belt of Yulong Snow Mountain,which is located in northwest Yunnan,where is one of the three plant diversity centers of plant species in China and according to preliminary statistics.The aim of this plot was to understand forest dynamics and community assembly rules under the scenario of global environmental change by a long-term monitoring programme in cold-temperate coniferous forest.From 2012 to 2014, all trees with diameter at breast height(DBH)≥1 cm were spatially mapped, tagged and identified per species.In total, 47751 individuals were recorded in the plot, belonging to 26 families,41 genera and 62 species.
