Synthesis of Sulfur Nanoparticles from Alkali Desulfurization Solution
A large amount of sulfur dioxide emission from the combustion of fossil fuels and minerals causes serious problems to the environment and human health.In this study,element sulfur nanoparticles were synthesized from alkali absorption solution of sulfur dioxide.The size of sulfur nanoparticles could be 1-50 nm under the optimum conditions,i.e.,pH adjusted to 1.1 by H2SO4 in the presence of 0.72 mmol sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate and sonication for 6min.Furthermore,the formation and structure of sulfur nanoparticles were observed and confirmed by energy disperse spectroscopy,X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy.
