Neurogenesis is a process that generates new and functional neurons from neural stem cells(NSCs).In postnatal mammalian brain,this process is restricted to two regions:subgranular zone of dentate gyrus(DG) of the hippocampus and subventricular zone(SVZ) of the lateral ventricle.
