Bimetallic zeolitic imidazolate frameworks towards gas adsorption
A novel bimetallic Zn-Co zeolitic imidazolate frameworks has been constructed by a simple and straight forward room temperature technique.Afterwards several characteristic techniques such as SEM,TEM-EDX,single-crystal XRD and ICP have been confirmed that the structure forms sodalite(SOD)cage structure. The Zn-Co-ZIF presents highly nano-crystallinity and porosity with large surface area.It was observed that by tuning dual metals in zeolitic imidazolate frameworks the physical/chemical properties and also stability has been improved compared with the single metal frameworks(Zn-ZIF-8 and Co-ZIF-67).Therefore the Zn-Co-ZIF were investigated in two different applications; gas adsorption(CO2,CH4 and N2)and catalytic activity(CO2 conversion to cyclic carbonates)and the results compared to the previously reported single metal frameworks(Zn-ZIF-8 and Co-ZIF-67).The hydrolitic stability tests under ambient conditions and immersing in water were carried out for Zn-Co-ZIF which presented high stability. Moreover, based on these results confirming the dual metals(Zn-Co-ZIF)demonstrate better properties compared with single metal on ZIFs.
