Korean Food Safety System to China1 and Implications to China
Korea and China have been facing food safety issues on the similar historical path of rapid industrialization and urbanization.From 1960s,Korea has experienced various food safety incidents.Consequently,Korean government has changed and developed food safety system constantly.The legal basis for food safety has been expanded and specified over decades.At the same time,diffused administrative authorities have been unified for efficient management on food safety.Korean government is conducting various policies and regulations of food safety,such as HACCP,GAP,traceability,origin labeling,consumer participation,imported food management etc.This study gives an overview of Korean food safety system,and then concludes several implications to China to improve its administration,laws,policies,and regulations.
