　　This paper elaborates the importance of high purity pig iron to the quality of low temperature ductile iron.The influence of pig iron chemistry was discussed on the modularization,low temperature impact toughness,fragility transit temperature and content of pearlite forming trace elements in the ferrite ductile iron.
