RIBBON OVER THE SEA: HONG KONG - ZHUHAI - MACAO BRIDGE HONG KONG LINK ROAD

　　The viaducts of Hong Kong Link Road under Contract HY/2011/09 are major elevated highway structures in Hong Kong forming an integral part of Hong Kong - Zhuhai - Macao Bridge.The viaducts are close to the Hong Kong International Airport and about 7km of the viaducts are marine structures subject to tight environment and aviation constraints.Some special design considerations and construction techniques have been employed to tackle the challenges.This paper describes the challenges and engineering solutions particularly in optimizing the use of precast concepts in pile caps,piers and deck construction.Considerations on the design/selection of special equipment are also discussed in this paper.
