A Smart ”Midway Pickup” Drug Delivery System for Chemotherapy to Tumor Hypoxic Regions
In this work,a novel drug delivery approach to enhance tumor penetration and accumulation via the midway pickup of therapeutic nanoparticles by tumor-associated macrophages(TAMs)en route toward tumor hypoxia was developed. The nanoparticle carriers equipped with high selective affinity with macrophages were first attained from the self-assembly of poly(lactic acid-co-glycolic acid)-grafted hyaluronic acid(HA-g-PLGA)together with an anticancer drug,SN38,in aqueous phase.
