Structural Analysis and Sizing Optimization of Low Control arm for Multilink Suspension

  Based on finite element analysis and structural optimization methods,light-weight design of low control arm for multilink suspension were carried out.Finite element modeling and strength analysis of the original scheme were conducted in OptiStruct,then structural and sizing optimization were conducted to obtain the optimal scheme,reducing the weight by 15%.Finally fatigue specification was performed to confirm the feasibility and reliability of the final scheme,It is concluded that the structural analysis and optimization methods are effective to obtain the optimal light-weight design for automotive suspension parts.
