Acoustic Modelling of the Sound-absorbing Material on the Noise inside a Coupled Plate and Cavity System

  This study focused on the acoustic modeling of the sound-absorbing material on the noise reduction inside a rectangular box cavity.The box is made of five rigid walls and backed by a flexible aluminum plate.The sound-absorbing material is attached to the plate and the cavity.To validate the measurement results,numerical approaches based on the Finite Element(FE)model is used.The results show that there is good agreement between the experiment and simulation for Sound Pressure Level at different microphone locations inside the box cavity.Furthermore,the cavity interior noise is significantly reduced by the attaching of sound-absorbing material.
