Separation and Online Detection for Tube Gel Electrophoresis
Slab gel electrophoresis (SGE) is widely used for bio-analysis because of its low cost and easy manipulation ”1”.However,conventional SGE relies on staining to visualize the separation results where harmful dyes are involved and the procedure is time consuming and tedious.Although capillary electrophoresis (CE) ”2” possesses excellent separation efficiency and online optical detection,labeling is still necessary for non-photoactive species,and the instruments are expensive.Here we demonstrate that to achieve label-free and online detection for gel electrophoresis,an universal monitoring device ”3” was applied to a tube gel electrophoresis system.
