Basin dynamic and energy resources in Nepal Himalaya
Nepal Himalaya is divided into four tectonostratigraphic zones from south to north;the Sub-Himalaya(Siwalik)(SW),Lesser Himalaya(LH),Higher Himalaya(HH),and Tethys Himalaya(TH).These all tectonic zones are separated from each other by the thrust faults;the southernmost fault, the Main Frontal Thrust(MFT)separates the Sub-Himalayan(Siwalik) Zone from Gangetic Plains”1”.The Main Boundary Thrust(MBT) separates the LH from SW.The Main Central Thrust(MCT) separates the HH from the LH.The South Tibetan Detachment System(STDS) marks the boundary between the HH and the overlying fossiliferous sequence of the TH.
