Fluorescent Liquid Crystal Physical Gels Based on Special Loofah-like 3D Gel Networks with High Mechanical Strength
A dendritic gelator(POSS-G1-BOC)1 was added into the matrix liquid crystal(LC)molecules 5CB innovatively,a azobenzene compound(2Azo2)as the light response agent and phosphors as additive agent were also doped into the system to prepare fluorescent LC physical gel.The gelation behavior of the LC physical gel was characterized by tube inversion,DSC,rotary rheometer etc.The results showed that 0.5wt%gelators were needed to be added into the LC matrix to prepare the fluorescent LC physical gel with good strength.The obtained fluorescent LC physical gel which had high mechanical strength provided the possibility of its application in the field of light scattering display used in harsh environments like road transportation,railway transportation,air transportation etc.
