Synthesis of Anthradithiophene-Based Liquid Crystals and Their Applications in Organic Thin Film Transistors

We design and synthesize a novel series of organic semiconductor materials which exhibits smectic liquid crystal phases and high OTFT carrier mobilities.An excellent OTFT carrier mobility of 0.68 cm2/Vs is observed using compound 12PADT,in which ODTS is used as the SAM layer and the sample is annealed at 80 ℃ for 120 min.The high carrier mobility is comparable to those of current conventional silicon-based thin film transistors and good enough for manufacturing process of current electronic devices such as TFT LCD manufacturing.
