Chemiluminescence resonance energy transfer competitive immunoassay employing haptenfunctionalized quantum dots for the detection of a chemical contaminant
We describe here a new strategy for the use of chemiluminescence resonance energy transfer(CRET)by using hapten-functionalized quantum dots(QDs) as the acceptor in a competitive immunoassay forthe detection of a chemical contaminant, sulfamethazine(SMZ),as a model system. To achiveultrasensitive detection, highly luminescent core/multishell QDs(CdSe/CdS/Cd0.5Zn0.5S/ZnS) weresynthesized and modified with the amphiphilic polymer,phospholipid-PEG(DSPE-PEG-NH2).
