Effects of Y2O3 on the Microstructure and Electrical Properties of SnO2-based Varistor System
Effects of Y2O3 addition on the microstructure and electrical properties of the SnO2-based varistor system were investigated.It was found that Y2O3 helps to greatly reduce the averaged grain size and improve the electrical properties of SnO2-based ceramics.The nonlinear coefficient (t =22.0) of the sample and the break-down electrical field (1105.8 V/mm) were obtained with the addition of 0.50 mol% Y2O3.The relative dielectric constant (at 1kHz)decreases from 4233.6 to 1350.2 with the increase of the Y2O3 content.
