Occurrence, Survival, Life Cycle and Management Options for Potato Cyst Nematode in Norway

In Norway potato cyst nematode (PCN) was first recorded in 1955.Since then, quarantine regulations have been implemented and surveys have been carried out.To prevent introduction of new PCN population import of seed-potato was prohibited.Crop rotation with resistant cultivars was enhanced.Surveying areas with certified seed potatoes started in 1956.Seed potato areas have been under monitoring for 60 years and are so far free of PCN.
