I am very pleased to be here in Beijing for the4th International Symposium on Cultural Heritage Conservation and Digitization in representation of ICOMOS,the International Council on Monuments and Sites,which is the organization that I have the honor to preside.I want to thank the Conference organizers at the Tsinghua Heritage Institute for Digitization as well as in ICOMOS China and CIPA for inviting me to join you.The symposium program,the exhibit,the Summer School and the other ancillary activities that are planned for the next few days show great richness and guarantee a great success for this event.
