Surviving in unique ecological environment, the deep-seaderived microorganisms were proved to producediverse novel chemical structures and biological activities of microbial secondary metabolites,which demonstrated exceptional potency in drug discovery as new drug leads.1,2Although thousands of compounds with various chemical structures have been disclosed, most of the gene clusters encoding secondary metabolites still keep in silence in a single culture condition.
