Vaginal implantation metastasis of endometrial carcinoma: a case report
Endometrial cancer is the most common malignancy of the female reproductive system.Three common spread patterns of endometrial cancer are local invasion, lymphatic spread, and hematogenous spread.Vaginal metastasis occurs by submucosal lymphatic or vascular metastases in approximately 10% of patients with clinical stage 1 disease.Vaginal implantation metastasis of endometrial cancer is extremely rare. Here we represent a case of endometrial carcinoma (FIGO stage 1A)spread to the vagina by implantation metastasis instead of any pattern mentioned above. This conclusion is mainly from pathological examination. This case reveals a vaginal implantation metastasis of endometrial carcinoma. Some manipulation may be adopted during surgery with these patients to prevent implantation metastasis.
