Synthesis of monolithic polyamide aerogels by acid-binding agent via sol-gel technology and CO2 supercritical drying
Polyamide aerogels are synthesized with melamine and isophthaloyl chloride as starting materials, dimethylacetamide (DMAC) as acid-binding agent via sol-gel technology followed by carbon dioxide supercritical drying.Compared with the aerogel prepared by no acid-binding agent, the as-prepared aerogel has a higher specific surface area about 413 m2/g and pore diameter about 20 nm according to the analysis of Brunauer-Emmett-Teller methods (BET), which belongs to the mesoporous material. The results of the field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) and the high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) indicate that the aerogel has a classical three dimensional network structure consisted of a large number of particles with the size about dozens of nanometers.
