Synthesis and crystal structure of a novel trinuclearmanganese (Ⅱ) complex with bis (5-nitrosalicylidene)-3-oxapentane-1,5-diamin

Schiff bases are used extensively as ligands in coordination chemistry”1”.Re cently, there has been a considerable interest in the synthesis and structure of lantha nide metal complexes of Sehiff bases for their potential applications in photolumines cence devices, energy harvesting devices and probes as well as light emitting diodes.This interest is probably due to their attractive photophysical properties such as large stokes shifts, narrow emission bands and millisecond-orderlifetime”2-3”.Herein, we report on a new Schiff base bis(5-nitrosalicylidene)-3-oxapentane-1,5-diam ine and its Mn(Ⅱ) complex was synthesized and structurally characterized by singlecrystal X-ray diffraction.
