An intelligent High-precision Detonation Velocity Instrument Based on Fiber Optics and Embedded System
In order to improve the precision characteristic of detonation velocity instrument and enhance the accuracy property of ammunition speed test in defense field, a high-precision intelligent detonation velocity instrument based on embedded system and fiber optics is designed and tested.It consists of three modules, fiber sensor,time module and the 200MHz crystal.The fiber optic sensors and photo-detectors are designed for the signal acquisition.The timing module includes the counter, automatic detection circuit, data strobe and cache that based on CPLD.The function of the data input and output, the computing and the control of LCD display are performed by the embedded system.The sampling frequency is increased to enhance the timing accuracy with the adoption the 200MHz crystal.It can be used to measure the time and speed of explosives, detonating cord,detonators and other detonation wave propagation.Velocity of projectile and fragment can also be measured by its pass-off target function.Its overall timing simulation characteristic is done with QuartusII software.The detonation velocity property to detonating cord is measured experimentally.Our experimental results show that its velocity measurement accuracy could be better than 1%, which is better than other types of explosive detonation velocity instruments.
