First aid and medical management of China International Search and Rescue Team(CISAR)on the Wenchuan earthquake search and rescue site
Objective To approach the validity of the first aid and medical management on the earthquake site.Method Retrospectively analyzed the medical staff and subject structure of China International Search and Rescue Team(CISAR),which was the first rescue team arrived disaster area from other province,and discussed the medical rescue work on spot.Results The team has twenty-two medical members with different speciality,took 280 species of medicine,consumable material,equipment.The team arrived the disaster site in 9 hours after the earthquake happened and rescued 49 survivors,composed by 21males and 28 females.The age range of survivors was from 7 to 61 years old.39 survivors were found and treated within 72 hours,10 cases over 72 hours.All the revivers were in medium or severe dehydrate station,and accompany with trauma in different part After emergency treatment on site,all the survivors were safety transported to hospital,including 3 cases with questionable spinal injuries by spinal board immobilized.Conclusions The effective medical management can avoid chaos on the rescue site,and reasonable emergency treatment and transport should reduce the ratio of disability and fatality in disaster.
