Supporting Primary School Teachers to Apply Interactive Whiteboard in Teaching:The Example of S School in Guizhou
Teachers” informationization teaching ability is an important content of the current teacher professional development.Training is one of the ways to promote the teacher professional development.In view of the low utilization rate of the interactive whiteboard(IWB)and insufficient application ability of the teachers in S School of Bijie City in Guizhou,as well as their urgent need to improve the teaching application ability of IWB.According to training path ”teaching notions and technical operation → instructional design and instructional implementation → innovative application”,the action research was adopted in this study.Through short-term intensive training,network distance training and blended training,the school teachers were provided with the training from the instructional notions and technical operation,instructional design and instructional implementation,and innovative application of the IWB.The findings indicate that the design of the training program should include the training objectives,training objects,training content,training methods,training assessment,incentives or safeguard measures,and training support(including organizational support and resource support)etc.It shows that most of the teachers can skillfully operate the common teaching functions of IWB.Some teachers can integrate IWB properly into their own instructional design in combination with the teaching subject,and can effectively implement it.A few teachers can innovatively apply IWB in teaching with other information technology teaching means.The students” enthusiasm and learning effects were improved.
