The Investigation of Technology Leadership Competencies of Secondary School Principals in Poverty-stricken Areas of China
The purpose of this study is to examine technology leadership competency levels of secondary school principals in poverty-stricken areas of China.The survey method design was employed for the study.The sample consisted of 1214 teachers from ten different middle schools in Shangrao,Jiangxi province.The technology leadership competency scale was used as a data gathering tool.Confirmatory factor analysis,independent samples t-test and one-way ANOVA were used as statistical methods.The analyses showed that technology leadership competencies of middle school principals in poor areas of China were found to be high.The results also showed that there were significant differences in the scores of technology leadership competency and its sub dimensions according to teachers” attitudes towards ICT and ICT use frequency of teachers.Besides,the study also found five major problems faced by the principal in implementing technical leadership.
