America”s Curriculum Debate

摘要：

　　In this paper I wish to outline some of the features of the so-called ”Common Core”curriculum debate.While the Common Core curriculum deals with all subject fields, I will focus on mathematics and English.One of the most hotly debated issues is developing a test to assess students who participate in the Common Core.Rather than go into great detail about the Common Core itself, I have chosen to raise historical issues related to the development of American society and education that suggest why a Common Core in the United State is so controversial and problematic.
