The U.S.Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and the Importance of International Anti-corruption Efforts in Trade Globalization
Ⅰ.Introduction In my experience as a career public servant and prosecutor—and as the former ranking federal enforcement official in the southeast corner of the state of Louisiana, including the beautiful and historic port city of New Orleans—this observation is unquestionably true:No problem does more to alienate citizens from their political leaders and institutions, and to undermine political stability and economic development, than endemic corruption among the government, political party leaders, judges, and bureaucrats.
