The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor:National and International Law Implications
I.Introduction The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is part of the greater Chinese Silk Road Economic Belt and 21st Century Maritime Silk Road vision (referred to in short as the Belt and Road Project and hereinafter referred to as BRP) first alluded to by Chinese President Xi Jinping when visiting Central Asia and Southeast Asia in 2013.② The blueprint for this Chinese vision is to be found in the March 2015 ”Vision and Actions” paper prepared by the Chinese government.
