Greenhouse Structural and Ventilation Design using Aerodynamic Technologies
Korean government recently announced a construction plan of new large-sized greenhouse complex at Saemangeum reclaimed land. However, wind environment of the reclaimed land is totally different from that of inland because of frequent prevalence of strong wind condition near the seashore. For these reasons, effect of wind environment on the greenhouses built in reclaimed land should be carefully evaluated to secure structural safety of the greenhouse. Moreover, natural ventilation of the greenhouses should be quantitatively as well as qualitatively analyzed considering local wind environment as well as greenhouse types. In this study, the estimation of wind pressure coefficient and local wind pressure coefficient has been conducted using aerodynamic approaches such as large-sized wind tunnel and computational fluid dynamics (CFD).The natural ventilation efficiency of the greenhouses have been also examined using various computational tools according to greenhouse characteristics, number of spans, local wind environment, etc.All those computed results will be used for upgrading Korean Greenhouse Standards later.
