BACKGROUND: This present study aimed to investigate the changes of blood pressure variability and left ventricular mass index (LVMI) in hypertensive patients aged 80 and over.METHODS: A total of 155 patients aged 80 and over were divided into three groups according to the level of blood pressure:norrnotensive (NH) group, hypertension (HT) group or treatment (TG) group.Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring and echocardiography detection were performed in all patients.
