Clinical Efficacy of Gastrodin and Donepezil on Vascular Dementia

BACKGROUND: It is important to improve cognitive function for patients with vascular dementia.This study aimed to observe the therapeutic effect of gastrodin and donepezil on vascular dementia.METHODS: Forty-eight elderly patients were randomly divided into two groups (the donepezil group vs.the donepezil plus gastrodin group).The mini-mental state examination (MMSE), activity of daily living (ADL), Hachinski ischemic score and the EEG expression were evaluated and the adverse effect was observed.The treatment lasted for 12 months.
