Prevention of cerebrovascular events by high-dose Folic Acid Supplement in Elderly Female Patients with Hypertensive Emergency and Hyperhomocysteinemia

BACKGROUND: Hyperhomocysteinemia (Hcy) has been associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events (CCE) in Chinese population, especially elderly female with hypertensive emergency (HE).This study was to make the assessment of the dosage that folic acid supplementary could better reduce the events of CCE for older women with HE.
