BACKROUND: This study aimed to investigate the clinical features, incidence and clinical management of symptomatic carotid artery stenosis and concomitant intracranial aneurysms.METHODS: We performed a retrospective review of all patients with symptomatic carotid artery stenosis who underwent digital subtraction angiography (DSA) at our institution between 2012 and 2013.Eighteen patients were found to have un-ruptured intracranial aneurysms in 287 patients with a stenosis ≥50%.They were divided into aneurysm intervention group (n=13) and non-intervention group (n=5).All patients were followed up by phone or at outpatient services for 3-12 months, and they had imaging results.
