Role of Stromal Interacting Molecule 1 in Forming Atherosclerotic Plaques in ApoE Gene Knock-out mice
BACKGROUND: Atherosclerosis is characterized by a complex multifactorial pathophysiology, which involves lipid disorder, oxidative stress, and vascular wall remodeling.Intracellular calcium concentration change is closely related to proliferation and migration of vascular smooth muscle cell. This study was to investigate the association between stromal interacting molecule 1 (STIM1) and formation of atherosclerotic plaques by observing the changes of STIM1 in apoE gene knock-out mice.
