Comprehensive Assessment of the Nutritional Status of Elderly Patients in Five Cities in China
OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to assess nutritional status of elderly Chinese patients and to evaluate the association between nutritional status of elderly patients and their activities of daily living.METHODS: This was an open and multi-centered investigation in five cities including Beijing,Shanghai, Chengdu, Guangzhou, and Chongqing.All of the participants are 65 years old or elder senior patients.The Mini-Nutritional Assessment was used to investigate the nutritional status of the elderly patients.Activities of Daily Living Scale were used to evaluate their activities of daily living.Data on basic social demographic characteristics such as age, sex, education, and medical insurance were also collected.
