The Association between Insomnia Symptoms and Mortality: A Prospective Study of US Men
BACKGROUND: Insomnia is the most common sleep disorder.This present study aimed to determine whether insomnia is associated with mortality risk.METHODS: A total of 23,447 US men had insomnia symptoms during 6 years of follow-up, and people with a cancer diagnosis and people with missing values for insomnia questions were excluded from this study.Deaths were identified from state vital statistics records, the National Death Index, reports given by the families, and the postal system.
