Artery Calcification, Osteoporosis, and Serum Adiponectin Levels in Chinese Elderly

摘要：

OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to investigate the relationship between serum adiponectin level and thoracic aortic calcification (TAC) in 333 Chinese elderly over the age of 65.METHODS: This is a cross-sectional study in subjects living in Changsha city and its district area.Serum total adiponectin level was measured by ELISA.TAC was evaluated by posterior-anterior chest radiographs.The diagnosis of osteoporosis was established using dual energy X-ray absorptiometry according to the World Health Organization criteria.
