OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to investigate the prevalence and characteristics of thyroid nodules and thyroid dysfunction in elderly as well as their relationships with atherosclerosis and cardiac function.METHODS: A total of 839 inpatients were randomly selected from the First Hospital of Lanzhou University.According to the inclusive criteria, thyroid ultrasonography and thyroid function test results from 442 patients and other clinical data were analyzed.
