The Association of Biological Molecules with Frailty in Older Adults

BACKGROUND: Frailty is a common and important geriatric syndrome characterized by declines in physiological reserve and function of multiorgan systems, leading to increased vulnerability for adverse health outcomes.Emerging evidence demonstrates the value of biological molecules in the circulation as predictor of frailty in older adults.This study aimed to review and discuss the recent advances of biological molecules and to explain or predict of frailty, so as to present the current state of the epidemiological evidence by different experimental designs.
