Relationships between Serum High-sensitivity C-Reactive Protein, Lipid Parameters and Age-related Body-composition Changes in the Elderly
OBJECTIVE: Aging is associated with progressive loss of lean body mass and increase of fat mass.In this study, we examined the association of serum high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP)) and serum lipid measures (total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), Lipoprotein (a) (LP(a)),apolipoprotein A1 (ApoA1), apolipoprotein B (ApoB)) with age-related body-composition changes (loss of muscle and increase of fat mass) in the elderly.
