Relationships between Sarcopenia and Inflammatory Factors and Impact of Vitamin D3 Treatment

OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to explore whether there is association between elevated inflammatory cytokines IL-6, TNF-α and hs-CRP and sarcopenia, to observe the changes in the levels of these inflammatory factors and to find out the possibility of improvement in muscular functions under the intervention with active Vitamin D3 (calcitriol), so as to provide theoretical evidence for the safety and efficacy of Vitamin D3 in treating sarcopenia.
