BACKGROUND: This study aimed to evaluate the relationship between amino-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) and cardiac structure and function in geriatric inpatients and to assess the influences of age, pulmonary infection, hemoglobin, renal function on plasma NT-proBNP.
