BACKGROUND: The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between plasma amino-terminal brain natriuretic peptide precursor (NT-proBNP), left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and New York Heart Association (NYHA) classification in elderly patients with chronic congestive heart failure.
