A Thesis on ESP Teachers” Improving Specialist Subjects Knowledge
To develop a working knowledge of the students” subject is usually regarded as the greatest difficulty, for most ESP teachers originally trained for General English teaching.To tackle this problem, an ESP teacher do need analysis and have a knowledge of the fundamental principles of the subject area as well as a semi-technical vocabulary or core business vocabulary.To achieve this, an ESP teacher should change attitude, value students” role, learn from the subject teacher, take part in scientific activities, be ready to learn, take part in designing or translation of scientific materials, exchange information and experience with other ESP teachers and receive pre-service and in-service teacher training.
