作为激扬智慧社区空间的图书馆
Public Libraries have had as an objective．ftom the moment of their creation，to promote the intellectual raise of people，encourage self—education，provide resources for individuals to access to knowledge and information and thereby contribute to happiness and the one of all the community that benefits as far3S its members have a better intellectual and emotional training. The overwhelming creation of knowledge and information tO which technological advances have taken humanity today to libraries，specially devoted to preservation and distribution of them，to rethink the ways of doing it and the meaning of their building structures，which，at first sight，would lack of purpose，since the remote access to knowledge would make its existence unnecessary． However，as I have tried to show in this paper，the development of information technologies and communication，far from causing a reduction of the library services provided at the physical buildings generate an enormous opportunity to re design them and greatly expand the activities to be performed in their areas． The effort to do it will not be enough，but for libraries the human and community development has never been possible to promote more efficiently as it is nOW，since using the new technologies with creativity and passion，they may and will be an indispensable engine for the intellectual，social and economic growth of our communities，contributing decisively to improve the quality of life and happiness of people，making them actively take part in securing their own welfare．
