Preparation and fluorescence properties of carbon quantum dots and their application for the determination of ferric ion
Nitrogen-doped carbon quantum dots(C-dots)were synthesized via facile and one-step hydrothermal approach from soy flour with NaOH assisted reaction,and the C-dots obtained had stronger fluorescence than that of C-dots without added NaOH.The as-prepared C-dots show good photostability at room temperature,under UV irradiation or in high ionic strength aqueous solution,high sensitivity towards pH,polarity of the solvent and ferric ion.Furthermore,the as-made C-dots can be used as fluorescence probes for detection of ferric ion.This work offers a simple approach to produce high quality C-dots from cheap and easily available soy flour.
