Expanded graphite/polydimethylsiloxane composites with high thermal conductivity
Expanded graphite(EG)/polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)composites are prepared through a solution method.Exfoli-ated graphite derived from natural graphite flake is infiltrated in PDMS prepolymer solution and then hot pressed in a steel mould at 80 ℃for 2 h.The expanded graphite self-agglomerate into a continuous network, and the PDMS also crosslink into a complete ma-trix.Optical microscope investigation reveals the interpenetrating network structures in the composites. There is a linear relationship between thermal conductivity and mass fraction of EG.The composites with EG mass fraction of 10.0%exhibit 5.79 W/m·K which should be attributed to the interconnect graphite network.Meanwhile, the composites have good flexibility because of its con-tinuous PDMS network.
