Graphene synthesis and application via electrochemical approaches
Electrochemical intercalation/exfoliation of graphite to produce graphene flakes has attracted increasing interests. Here,I will present that a number of graphene products were synthesized via electrochemical approaches and further applied in various fields including electrochemical energy storage, electrocatalysts, thermal management, electromagnetic shielding, photodetector and biological detection.”1,2” The layer numbers, sheet sizes and defects of graphene could be controllably synthesized.High-yield(> 70%)exfoliation of graphite into high-quality few-layer graphene flakes(<5 layers)were firstly realized through electrochemically charged negative graphite electrode in propylene carbonate. This pristine graphene were explored as an ultrahigh efficiency precon-centration and detection platform for single-stranded DNA.DNA-adsorbed graphene can be used directly for Surface Enhanced Laser Desorption Ionization-Time of Flight-Mass Spectrometry(SELDI-TOF-MS).The graphene-titania nanocomposite prepared by a sol-gel process were used for detecting phosphopeptides in cancer cells(HeLa cells)with high specificity(94%).PbSe TiO2 graphene hybrids synthesized can applied for high-performance broadband photodetector.Fe3 O4/graphene films were synthesized via a green approach of electrochemical exfoliation of graphite paper in aqueous Fe2(SO4)3,and they exhibit good electromagnetic shielding of 31-42 dB at 1.0-10 GHz.
